Meet Lauren Licatesi

Lauren Licatesi, MS, RD, is a registered dietitian who specializes in anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), as well as disordered eating and orthorexia. Lauren has a special interest in the microbiome and nutrition for gut health. In addition, she has much experience both personally and professionally using nutrition and supplementation to alleviate migraines and inflammation. This has led Lauren to also pursue additional expertise in autoimmune disorders as well as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Lipidema and Lymphedema.

While Lauren began her career in fashion, she has always been passionate about using food as medicine. Her respect for nutrition and supplementation was solidified when Lauren experienced the healing abilities of food combined with breath work meditation known as Kundalini yoga. This personal transformation guided Lauren’s decision to change her career, return to university and become a RD .

Lauren earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the Pennsylvania State University. She graduated from the first cohort of Long Island University’s Nutrition and Dietetics accredited Integrated Program (ACEND) where she received her Master of Science in Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship. Throughout her dietetic internship, she gained extensive clinical experience at NYU Langone Hospital providing medical nutrition therapy to adults and children with a wide range of disease states. Lauren also acquired clinical experience at Northwell Cohen Children’s Hospital in their Eating Disorder program, working with children and adolescents on the importance of food and body image.

Lauren joined LCWNS with mission of helping all individuals facing feeding and eating challenges. Lauren works with all age groups hoping to empower client and their families to create a positive relationship with eating and a neutral relationship with food and exercise. She is currently pursuing the International Association of Eating Disorders Professional certification known as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through weekly supervision with Laura.

Lauren provides nutrition consultations through tele-health and in person, on Long Island. In addition, she offers pro bono nutrition consultations for Project Heal scholarship recipients on a regular basis through LCWNS. Private pay clients can schedule with Lauren through our online system or email Lauren at for nutrition sessions on Long Island and or via tele-health services.
