No matter how young or old you are, you probably remember Dr. Seuss as being an essential part of your childhood. The prolific children’s writer and artist (who was born Theodor Seuss Geisel) created over 60 books during his lifetime, including such memorable favorites as The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who!, Green Eggs and Ham and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Many of his books have become the top-selling books of all time.
Wednesday, March 2, was his birthday, and the entire week is being celebrated as Dr. Seuss Week.
Some fun ways for kids to celebrate his birthday include wearing their favorite hat (in honor of Cat in the Hat) and wearing red or blue or both (in honor of One Fish, Two Fish).
You can also enter my contest! Because I love Dr. Seuss so much, I have decided to give away two of my all-time favorite Dr. Seuss books, Green Eggs and Ham and Oh, The Places You’ll Go. Win them for yourself or the special little one in your life! You can enter by clicking on the Giveaway tab on my Facebook page. The contest is running through March 8.
