Elyssa Toomey, RD, RYT…
Elyssa has spent her career creating change for the well-being of individuals, families and communities. She received her BA in Sociology and Biology from Smith College, a BS in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Montclair State University and completed her dietetic internship with the College of Saint Elizabeth. Elyssa is a 200 hr RYT currently working on her 500 hr certification.
Elyssa combines medical nutrition therapy, advanced training and skills in preventing and treating eating disorders, intuitive eating, mindfulness and functional medicine. She believes in an integrative and Positive Nutrition approach, weaving evidenced-based science, Eastern philosophies and positivity to meet her clients’ personal nutritional needs and wellness aspirations.
Elyssa gained valuable experience as a RD working in the field of eating disorders at Balance (eating disorder treatment center) in NYC. Here in Bergen County, NJ she has created and facilitated a body positive curriculum for adolescent girls, which uses the philosophy and movement of yoga combined with meditation and nutrition to build self-esteem. Elyssa is now part of the Laura Cipullo Whole Nutrition and L’ifestyle Lounge team where she counsels individuals and families on the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, specializes in family nutrition and women’s health issues.
